Accessibility Statement

Michigan Legal Publishing Ltd. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

Measures Taken

  • Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA attributes throughout our website.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. A “Skip to main content” link is provided on every page.
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus outlines are displayed on all interactive elements for keyboard users.
  • Alt Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes.
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against their backgrounds.
  • Responsive Design: Our website is designed to work on all devices and screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktop computers.
  • Form Accessibility: All form inputs have associated labels, and required fields are clearly indicated.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some content may have limitations:

  • Older book descriptions imported from our previous system may not be optimally formatted.
  • Some third-party content (Amazon, Barnes & Noble links) is outside our control.
