Mobile Applications

This section applies to our mobile applications, including Federal Court Rules for iPhone and iPad.

We do not require an account. You can use the app without giving us your name, email address, or any other personal information. We do not operate user accounts or logins in the app.

The rules are stored on your device. The app downloads court rules from our servers and keeps a copy on your device so that it works without an internet connection. Your reading, searching, and browsing within the app happen entirely on your device. We do not receive, record, or store what rules you read or what terms you search for.

What our servers see. When the app checks for updated rules, our servers receive the ordinary technical information that any internet request includes, such as your device’s IP address and the version of the rules you already have. We use this only to deliver the correct rule text and to keep the service running. We do not use it to build a profile of you and we do not combine it with any other information about you.

Bookmarks and highlights. Anything you save in the app is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account so that it appears on your other Apple devices. It is not sent to us and we cannot see it. Apple’s privacy policy governs iCloud.

Feedback you send us. If you use the feedback option in the app, it opens your own mail application with a message you can review before sending. Nothing is transmitted from the app itself. If you choose to send it, we receive your message and your email address so we can reply.

Subscriptions and payments. Subscriptions are sold and processed by the Apple App Store, not by us. We never receive your payment card details, and we do not receive your name or Apple Account information. Your subscription status is confirmed by Apple on your own device. Apple’s privacy policy governs the purchase itself.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking. The app contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting software of any kind. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Deleting your information. Because the app stores its data on your device and in your own iCloud account, and we hold no account for you, uninstalling the app and deleting its iCloud data removes the information it kept.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure session management, and access controls on our administrative systems.

Cookies

Our website uses session cookies for functionality (login sessions, shopping). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Our mobile applications do not use cookies.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and applications are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
